Minor

Add Game Development to Any Major
Bring the creative and technical edge of game design to whatever you’re already studying.
This is an undergraduate minor that blends programming, visual storytelling, and interactive media, open to students in any major. You build hands-on skills making playable, meaningful games while you keep pursuing your major.
It’s a flexible, interdisciplinary minor with small classes and personalized support from experienced faculty, so you grow on both the creative and technical sides of game creation. It pairs well with majors like computer science, art and communication. It will also prepare you for work in game design and development, app and web development, UX/UI design, interactive storytelling, and digital media production.

What You’ll Explore in the Minor
The game development minor moves you from first idea to finished, playable game. On the programming side, you’ll build real games using industry languages like C# and Python. Additionally you’ll take courses such as Programming for Game Development and Introduction to Game Design. On the design side, you’ll shape worlds, characters, and stories with professional tools like Blender through courses like Visual Storytelling and Digital Media Tools. Then you’ll bring it all together in Interactive Media and a capstone Senior Project, where you design and build your own games for real audiences. By the end, you’ll have actual playable work to show, not just coursework.
