Why Study Broadcasting at Goshen College?

You do not wait until junior year to go on air. You do it in your first semester, surrounded by people who already know your name.

Where You’ll Belong From Week One

Regardless if you are coming from Goshen or across the planet, your first question is rarely about the syllabus. It is whether you will find people. Goshen College is a small, values-centered community, and the broadcasting program gives you one from week one, on the air at 91.1 The Globe, in the newsroom at The Record, and on set with FiveCore Media.

You do not have to share the college’s faith to belong here. Students of every background, religious or not, international or domestic, are welcomed as full members of the community.

    What You’ll Study

The broadcasting curriculum is designed in close collaboration with working broadcasting professionals, so you train on industry standard trends and technologies. You build skills in radio and TV production, podcasting, digital storytelling, public speaking, news writing, and the ethics of communication.

Classroom learning pairs with real production from the start. You develop leadership at 91.1 The Globe, sharpen video skills with Globe TV and FiveCore Media, and report for The Record. View the complete program requirements in our catalog.

      • 91.1 The Globe is the reason I am where I am today. When I set foot on campus for the first time on my tour in 2019, I knew Goshen College was the place for me. I was on air immediately, getting real world experience that propelled me into the industry. After graduating in 2024, I knew I was prepared for my career.
